The Client
Created by college athletes turned engineers, Flip-Tech was a programming powerhouse that leveraged bleeding edge computer science capabilities with intriguing business ideas.
While the founding members were based in Seattle, their team was spread around the world handling a mix of client work and their own unique start-up concepts.
Project Brief
The Flip-Tech team wanted a website that would not only catalogue their past client work but also serve as a launching off point for their start-up ideas.
Crucially, they wanted the site to reflect their brand’s personality - equal parts technical expertise mingled with an edgy adventurous spirit willing to try new ideas that helped them stay ahead of the curve.

THE DESIGN challengE:
A CHANGE IN PERSPECTIVE
Our initial concept was to create a hover effect where the initial statement ‘When you change your perspective’ would animate into ‘You see things you never knew existed’ and the initial dark image of a boy wearing a VR headset would reveal an animated star filled night sky.
While the client liked the concept as a whole they wanted a truly novel take on the banner graphics. Something that would really tie it all together.
INSPIRATION
FLIPPIN 3D
After a few discussions and some much needed feedback, we settled on using animated 3D artwork on each top level page of the site.
This was combined with simple but powerful titles that animated to reveal a second part when the user scrolled down.
Building on this, we created all the other elements around our 3D Flip concept from Buttons and Navigation to the Preloader and Page transitions.
To balance the end user experience, we made sure to keep the sitemap simple and direct so as not to overwhelm visitors.
Our approach
We Relied On Complex 3D Artwork For Our Big Banner Animations And CSS+SVG For The Smaller Micro-interactions.
Everything from the ideas conveyed in the content to each animation was built around the flip concept to create a hard hitting unforgettable USER Experience.
The focus was on conveying complex ideas in simple and fun methods that captured the users attention.
SOLUTION
FILLING IN THE DETAILS
Now that we had our initial concept, we went to town working with SVG and CSS to create corresponding elements to build on our whole 3D Flip concept.
We carefully designed everything from the Buttons and Navigation to the Preloader and Page transitions along the same lines.
To balance the end user experience, we made sure to keep the sitemap simple and direct and the content concise so as not to overwhelm visitors.
We also exercised restraint in the use of 3D animation, breaking it up with other kinds of visuals to keep things interesting and ensuring acceptable performance figures.
Project Outcome
Unsurprisingly, the site was listed on several prominent design award platforms from Awwwards to CSSDA within the first month of launching it which helped push initial traffic levels to almost 3K visitors.
More importantly, the client was delighted with the end result and had us create additional websites for their start-up concepts FitTraction and Flip-NFTs.

Real World Results
With 500+ visitors from day one of site launch, the number of page views easily crossed 3,650 by the end of the first month.
close to 80% of the visitors were from outside india. This was exactly the geographical audiences rebc wanted to connect with.
