Starting from scratch on a project is always challenging, from a creative as well as a prractical standpoint. It can often be difficult to let go of a piece we created and refined over time.

The Client

An event firm bringing the latest technological innovations to event planning and exection.

the firm also provides hi-tech equipment rentals such as 3D projectors for various events in India.

The Research

After our usual client meetings and some basic research, we realised this was the only company providing this kind of 3D Tech in northwest India.

The client had initially intended to have two separate brands, Sumo Events for the event management business and Event Gizmo for the hi-tech equipment rentals.

The Inspiration

The client knew exactly what he wanted with Sumo Events - an iconic front facing profile of a sumo wrestler.

For Event Gizmo, I took inspiration from the client, who was himself passionate about live events and frequently traveled around the world to participate in them.

The Solution

Halfway through the project, the client made the decision to brand both the event management and equipment rental businesses under one name, “Stratos Events”.

Taking inspiration from the client’s passion for live events, I began working with the idea of a disco ball. But instead of using the clichéd rounded version, I decided to go with a more uneven 3 dimensional shape.

I then incorporated various Pantone Red shades over a dark grey background to give a sophisticated, yet edgy feel to the brand.

The RESULTS

The initial results were quite positive. The new identity helped the brand stand out at events, even when placed in a collage with a group of other industry brands. Customer feedback was positive and encouraging.

As part of the project, I also provided designs for office stationery and other relevant marketing collaterals.
