Branding across two very different cultures was always going to be challenging. The key was to find something iconic and instantly recognizable and re-interpret it in a new and interesting way.

The Client

Koushallayaben & Co. was a new Logistics firm setup with multiple offices in the Middle-East and East African regions.

They needed a comprehensive Branding solution from the Logo and Stationery Design to decals for their vehicles.

The Research

Part of the challenge was branding across different countries & demographics.

We needed something iconic that would be instantly recognizable and translate well across cultures.

The Inspiration

The company’s founder had spent his childhood in Uganda where he had learnt to ride and care for his own horse.

We quickly realised this iconic animal would be perfect to represent K&Co. It was also a highly respected symbol in both demographics.

The Solution

After sketching out some several versions from horses standing, prancing and at full gallop, we decided to select just the top part of the animals head.

Keeping in mind, local tastes as well as the conservative nature of the industry, we settled on Elephant, a bold Serif typeface, combining it with Times for our secondary typeface.

The RESULTS

In addition to the stationery designs, we also provided Logo stickers for the client’s various vehicles.

The company’s new Logo was positively received in both markets with strong brand recall.
